The important ‘what to buy for the baby’ list

Baby’s room

• bed
• chest (commode)
• wardrobe
• changing pad (got this at 4th of Oct. finally)
  

Baby’s bed

• Good fitting mattress
• 2 blankets
• 2 under sheets <- possibly also still present, need to check that
• 3 fitted sheets (got this at 4th of Oct. finally)
• 3 top sheets
• 2 hot-water bottles
• 2 hot-water bottle bags

Baby’s days out

• stroller
• diaper bag <- still have one
• baby carrying bag <- still have about 4 or 5 laying around
  
• car seat <- would be handy to have a car first

Baby’s first clothes
(all size 56)

• 6 bodysuits
• 2 romper suits <- 1 present <- got another 1 which makes 2
• 2 pants
• 3 sweaters/shirts <- 1 shirt <- got another 2 which makes 3
• 1 vest
• 1 jacket or complete suit <- a suit
• 4 pairs of socks
• 2 caps

Taking care of the baby part

• 1 bath and/or a tummy tub –> Just got the bath, I can always use a bucket as ‘tummy tub’ (6th of October)
• bath cape <- 2 or 3 present
• bath thermometer (got this at 4th of Oct. finally)
• 1 bottle of baby shampoo (got this at 4th of Oct. finally)
• 1 soft hairbrush (got this at 4th of Oct. finally)
• 6 bibs or 6 burp/spit cloths <- need to get another 3 cloths
  
• 3 to 6 flanel diapers
• 1 pack diapers
• 1 pack cleaning tissues (got this at 4th of Oct. finally)
• 1 pot of sudocrem
• 1 bottle of baby oil (got this at 4th of Oct. finally)
• digital fever thermometer
• nail scissors

Breastfeeding

• 1 pack breast pads
• breast pump –> They advised me to get that after the baby is born (further I would need it when I go back to work, which will be after 3 months)

Practical

• baby fences for the stairs not needed anymore because of us moving houses
• playpen (baby box)

As you can see there are things I already have and so many things I still don’t. That’s why I put this list up to remind me to get all the things I need. And then I still need to get stuff for the the delivery as well, depending if I deliver at home or not.

A lot of the stuff I need for a home delivery I got from my health insurance company. I applied for a packet and then they send it directly to your house, so that is complete also. Although I still need some additional stuff, but need to check on what exactly.

Since I have to deliver in the hospital I can skip the stuff for the home delivery and just get the stuff I need for after the baby is born. Still a few things to get, but I want to try and do that tonight, since the shops are open.

Got now just a few things still missing from this list and I will try to get those over the weekend, minus the stroller, since I have baby carriers.
