List of things needed for a home delivery

  • A piece of plastic or some special mattress protector (for when your water breaks)
  • Special mattress (60cm x 90cm) for during the delivery
  • 10 Cellulose mats
  • 3 packs of thick bandages ( for directly after the delivery)
  • 2 packs of maxi bandages
  • Digital thermometer for the baby (and if wanted an ear thermometer for the mom)
  • Zigzag cotton wool
  • 2 buckets with garbage bags
  • Good lighting
  • Good heating so the room will be of a good temperature when the baby is born
  • Warm water on the floor where the delivery takes place
  • Bed raiser ( 4 blocks with holes to raise the bed )
  • Soap from a pump (because of hygiene)
  • Navel clamp
  • Compresses
  • Make sure there is an emergency suitcase ready:
    • Bathrobe
    • Clean upper and under clothes
    • Hospital card
    • Insurance card
    • Shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush
    • Slippers
    • Clothes for the baby
    • (Video) camera
    • maxi-cosi
